Tartine Bakery

Posted by Christine Albano

I recently returned from Oakland on business and I must admit I spent most of my time thinking how I could fit in daily visits to Tartine Bakery. Stephen (my coworker) and I got up extra-early the first day and drove 40 minutes over the bridge to San Fran proper and hit the bakery. Our eyes were big, but we were committed. We patiently waited in line; it was our turn and we didn't hold back: two café lattes, fresh orange juice, bread pudding, plain croissant, double pain au chocolate, morning bun, gingerbread tile, and the highly anticipated pain au jambon; they didn't stand a chance.

It was the perfect way to start the day (if  you can go home and take a nap and don't actually have to work).
